KIM PAEZ SET TO COMPETE IN THE KPMG WOMEN'S PGA CHAMPIONSHIP

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. - June 19, 2024 – Kim Paez will be representing the Southwest PGA in the KPMG Women’s Championship, June 20-23, at Sahalee Country Club in Sammamish, Washington. Paez earned her spot in the KPMG after finishing fourth in the 2024 PGA Women’s Stroke Play Championship at PGA Golf Club in Port St. Lucie, Florida. She joins 7 other PGA Professionals from around the country who make up the Corebridge Financial Team at the KPGA Championship.

Paez, 37, PGA Player Development Manager for PING and PGA Coach at Cave Creek Golf Club’s Reid West Golf Academy, will be making her first KPMG Championship appearance and first start in a major championship.

Last season Paez made Southwest PGA history after becoming the first female to win the Southwest PGA Championship in the 66-year history of the event. She also qualified for the PGA Professional Championship, a first in the Section as well. She became the fourth woman overall in the history of the PGA of America to win a PGA Section Championship, joining Suzy Whaley in 2002 (Connecticut), Taylor Collins in 2021 (South Florida) and Sandra Changkija in 2022 (North Florida).

Paez earned her membership in the PGA of America in 2022. She played collegiate golf at UC Irvine, where she won the individual Big West Conference Championship in 2008.

This past March, Paez earned a sponsor’s exemption to play in her first LPGA Tour event - the Ford Championship at Seville Golf and Country Club in Gilbert, Arizona.

In the first round, Paez will begin at 7:27 a.m. (PDT) off the 10th tee, with Maja Stark and Gabriela Ruffels. For the second round, Paez will start at 12:44 p.m. (PDT) off the 1st tee.
